welp, we did it. 5.6 miles at Greenlake today. My knee started to hurt. No running tomorrow. Yoga, maybe, instead. My groin muscles hurt from it all. Hard to get comfortable.

Ariel and I attempted to get a lot of work done in Volunteer Park and took along a picnic of sheep's milk cheese, quince paste, bread and crackers, chocolate soymilk, fresh peaches, and a vosges chocolate bar. mm. We were interrupted by a rather lame guy looking for chicks, who apparently didn't understand that when women ignore you, they want you to GO AWAY. He claimed to be 22. I had my doubts. If he was, he was a pretty stereotypically immature 22 year old male, not to mention dim. He kept interrupting Ariel and I in our conversation (that didn't include him) with demands that we define words we'd used. "I don't speak 'University'," he said. Loser. Ugh. I managed to escape for a bit to meet a guy and his puppy named Lotti (black lab puppy!!) who were across teh lawn from us. I buried my face in her wriggling fur and was covered in puppy kisses while I babbled nonsense to her in my doggie voice. Her poor owner must have thought I was insane. God I love dogs.

When aforementioned irritant finally left, Ari and I gave up, packed up, and met Cass at Vios for some really nice greek food - souvlaki, octopus salad, beans, gelato, and syrah. mmm. Came back here and I gave up on lesson plans, spent the rest of the day beading. I'm nearly finished overhauling the vintage top I found at the thrift store with Natalie. It's pretty cool. Can't wait for it to be done, and glad to see myself finally using up some remnants of old projects - pearls and antique beads, etc.
